Live Webinar Date: 12/14/21 In this course we'll discuss the benefits of exercise on neuroplasticity, and how functional fitness can enhance both cognitive-communicative and physical recovery for survivors of brain injury. We'll review the basic principles of functional fitness, how fitness can be adapted/modified for various limitations, and provide examples of simple exercise routines. A basic "how to" on blending cognitive and language rehabilitation into fitness will be provided, with review of case studies.

Jenna Muri-Rosenthal is a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) with over ten years of experience in acute care and acute rehabilitation, treating clients with cognitive-communication needs at MGH and in the community. She is a CrossFit-Level 2 Trainer and a certified Adaptive & Inclusive Trainer and coaches classes and 1:1 session at Invictus Boston. Jenna has a Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Certificate in Adult Teaching & Learning from the MGH Institute of Health Professions (MGHIHP), and is an Adjunct Professor in Graduate SLP programs at the MGHIHP and Northeastern University.
