Restorative Nursing: Dressing, Grooming, and Bathing for the Licensed Nurse

The ability to perform fundamental daily tasks, or activities of daily living (ADLs), is important to a resident’s quality of life. Residents may experience a decline because of their age or chronic health conditions. Decline in the ability to perform ADLs may be unavoidable in some residents. However, with the implementation of the right restorative nursing program, you can help prevent this decline in many of your residents. This course addresses how to incorporate dressing, grooming, and bathing programs into your organization’s restorative nursing program. It also emphasizes how a restorative nursing program for dressing, grooming, or bathing will help your residents gain a sense of independence and self-worth.

The goal of this course is to provide nurses in post-acute care settings with an overview of dressing, grooming, and bathing.
